Incorporated in 1888 under the laws of the territory of Washington, the company purposed to construct and operate a rail line from Seattle to Blaine via Whatcom. It operated a line from Anacortes to Hamilton (eventually extended to Rockport). Its property was conveyed to the Seattle and Montana Railroad Company in 1902, then transferred to the Great Northern and disincorporated in 1911. The Rexford, Mont., station of the Great Northern Railway was established in 1903. It was closed in 1972 when the railroad was rerouted due to the flooding of the area behind the Libby Dam.
